District Nurses play a crucial role in the primary health care team. They visit people in their own homes or in residential care homes, providing care for patients and supporting family members.

Health Visitors

The health visitors attached to the practice can be contacted on their direct line: 01792 586087.

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with additional training in community health care. They are particularly skilled in seeking out and identifying health needs, and work closely with all member of the practice team (GP, practice nurse, district nurse etc.) to promote individual, family and public health.

The health visitor works with all age groups, however, the majority of clients are families with pre-school children and also the elderly. They play an important role in care of women and babies following childbirth and visit all new mothers when they take over their care from the midwives. They are an excellent source of information for any problems with babies and young children.
